We promised
That we would have a little girl
And we would name her
After your eyelashes
And my eyes.
Where do promises go when they die?
Where do little girls wait till they are called to be born?

Where do promises go when they die?
Where do little girls wait till they are called to be born? - How can you express an entire world in just these two lines?? Am your fan forever
:(
just a quick response amrita, to the lines only,
can this be considered against the abortion of girl kids?
and i loved the lines, as always.
Now that was very thoughtful LGL..:)
You seem to be a very frequent contributor to your blog with so many poems... good..
keep going..:)
“Where do promises go when they die?
Where do little girls wait till they are called to be born?”
If there is one word that comes to your mind after reading this poem, it has to be “innocence”
Be it be the simplicity of the verse,
Or the metaphors like
“Little girls” and “promises”
Both promises and little girls are innocent entities and gives the verse a delicate, tender look…love the simplicity and serenity of the verse
Sadly both promises and little girls are lost forever with time…such a lovely, painful truth you have painted…
And about the anthology Tapestry of Spring crafted by Catherine

but but but do little girls really wait in some place?
This was so beautiful.
And thanks for dropping by at my blog. I haven't been blogging lately but I do hope I manage some time soon.
Many little girls come down to earth when not the sun but the moon provides the light. They walk on the grass, on the green leafes or on the cold waters of river. They smell the flowers and play. If you are welcome to them they allow you to hear them. Try to tune your soul you shall hear them.
Oh my that was beautiful!!
Where do promises go when they die?
