Little Girl

We promised
That we would have a little girl
And we would name her
After your eyelashes
And my eyes.
Where do promises go when they die?
Where do little girls wait till they are called to be born?

This was my contribution to Catherine's Tapestry of Spring. If you want to see the uniquely beautiful anthology and hear this poem as well as seven magical others being read out, please visit Catherine here (link)
And if you want to read a poem on the making of this wonderful creation, you should visit Aniket here (link)

“Where do promises go when they die?
Where do little girls wait till they are called to be born?”

If there is one word that comes to your mind after reading this poem, it has to be “innocence”
Be it be the simplicity of the verse,
Or the metaphors like
“Little girls” and “promises”

Both promises and little girls are innocent entities and gives the verse a delicate, tender look…love the simplicity and serenity of the verse

Sadly both promises and little girls are lost forever with time…such a lovely, painful truth you have painted…

And about the anthology Tapestry of Spring crafted by Catherine
I would say I am happy that you guys are coming up with brilliant ideas....you’re doing some great work here in blogger....thanks for everything

have left some comments for you in my blog do take a look

Many little girls come down to earth when not the sun but the moon provides the light. They walk on the grass, on the green leafes or on the cold waters of river. They smell the flowers and play. If you are welcome to them they allow you to hear them. Try to tune your soul you shall hear them.
